  • 1. What is Terraria Connect?

Terraria Connect (TC) is an application that makes creating and finding Terraria servers to play on easier. Terraria Connect has two main features: Joining and Creating servers, and on the application there are tabs that represent these features. The first tab is Join. When you click on this tab you will see a list of live servers that are connected to Terraria Connect's database. There is information about each server to help you choose the best one.

The second tab is Create. This tab is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Terraria's server executable ( TerrariaServer.exe ) that comes with Terraria. When you fill out the required information you can hit the Create Server button in the bottom right and TerrariaServer.exe will launch creating your server just as you specified. After this, your server information will get sent to Terraria Connect's database. It will try to connect to your server to see if other players can. If it can successfully connect to it, your server will get added to the database and it will now be viewable on the Join tab and on the Server List web page. If Terraria Connect cannot connect to your server, the most likely issue is that your ports are not forwarded correct. Please see this guide on: How to Forward Your Ports.

    2. But I can just connect to a server through Terraria, why would I use TC?

Terraria Connect allows you to easily find new servers and not have to remember IP Addresses. If you want to switch up your game style, there is no better way to do it than finding a new server and players to play with. Terraria Connect now allows you to easily browse and connect to many servers faster than before. There is also this handy feature which allows you to add a server to your list of favorite servers. This list appears in the third tab of the form called Favorites.

    3. My server/the server I like to play on uses mods, can I still use this?

If this question is to mean "Does Terraria Connect discriminate against servers who use mods?", then the answer to that is no! Any server can be added to Terraria Connect whether it is modded or not - Terraria Connect does not care at all!

If this question is to mean "Does Terraria Connect actually work with servers that are modded, like with TShock?", then the answer to that is yes! Please see question number 4 for more details.

    4. Does it work with TShock?

Yes it does, but you must make sure that the Terraria Connect folder you downloaded is in the same directory as TShock's TerrariaServer.exe file.

    5. How does it work?

Servers get added to Terraria Connect's database whenever a server is created via the form or whenever a user enters one in from the Server List web page. The servers that are in the database are then populated on the Join tab of the application. Whenever a server on the list is doubled clicked ( or selected and hit the Join Button in the bottom right ), Terraria gets launched and will automatically connect to that server.

    6. Who made TC?

Terraria Connect was made by me! - Rob Filippi. My friend Jimmy has been a big help with internal testing and he also helps me with the website.

    7. Can I use TC to create a server?

Of course, that is one of the main features! Just click on the Create tab, fill in the required information, and click the Create Button in the bottom right!

    8. How do I add a server to the server list?

    There are two ways:

    1. Create a new server with the Terraria Connect application.
    2. Adding an existing server via the Servers List web page.

    9. How do I connect to a server?

The first step is downloading Terraria Connect. Once you have the application up and running, you will be presented with the tab labeled Join. Here all you have to do is double click on a server to join or single click and then press the Join Server Button in the bottom right. Terraria Connect will then launch Terraria and automatically connect you to the server.

    10. I noticed a bug, who should I notify?

The best way would be via email or in the post on the Official Terraria Forums. Please view our Contact Page to see all the ways to get in touch!

    11. How can I update my server information?

There are a couple ways to do this. The first way to do this is by relaunching your server via the Terraria Connect application. Any information you put on the application will always update the stored information that is saved about your server.

The next way is currently still in development. Once you register an account you can verify that you own that server and it will be tied to your account. Once a server is tied to your account, you can edit the server details right on the website without having to relaunch the server. Because this is still in development you can Contact Us and we can also manually change your information.

    12. How can I support Terraria Connect?

There are several ways that you can help support Terraria Connect! The easiest and best way to help to help is by using the Terraria Connect application. There are a few other things you can also do:
